Our Projects and History
Friends of Lanka Inc. was founded in August 2019 by a group of Sri Lankans living in Melbourne, Australia, united by a shared vision to support communities in need.
The first and on-going project initiated in 2020 was “HELP LEARN”, through which carefully selected, well-deserving school children in rural Sri Lanka were given school stationery.
In 2025 the organisation has shifted its focus from distributing school stationery to providing skill development opportunities for children, in response to the evolving needs of society.

Our strength lies in our dedicated Executive Committee, members, and donors in Australia and overseas who shape and support our mission.
Equally important is our committed volunteer team in Sri Lanka, who work tirelessly on the ground to ensure the successful delivery of our projects.
Their dedication and deep understanding of the communities we serve are essential to creating a meaningful impact.
Our Objectives
We committed to establishing a strong and sustainable mechanism for humanitarian and community welfare activities in Sri Lanka and Australia.
To fulfil our mission, we run three core programs—Support Education, Support Small Enterprises, and Support Community & Environment—focused on empowering individuals and strengthening communities through education, livelihood support, and well-being initiatives.
