Going along with its core values, FOL considers, it is unfortunate for a child to step out from the formal education due to economic hardships. It is a common fact that more and more children from disadvantaged backgrounds do not continue into higher or technical education, rather they look for work to make a living.

Distributed laptops to high-potential university students facing socio-economic challenges

Under the 'HELP YOUTH' Project, FOL supports carefully selected school leavers and youth, providing them with the necessary support to further their education in universities or relevant technical institutions.
In this project, FOL does not directly pay the beneficiary. Instead, it performs a coordination role, linking the prospective beneficiary (applicant) with a donor willing to assist with the educational expenses of such students. Through the trusted volunteers working on the ground, FOL obtains and evaluates the eligibility of each applicant before allocating such prospective beneficiaries to a donor.
Currently, two undergraduates, one from Ruhuna University and the other from the University of Colombo, are receiving monthly payments from three generous donors.
If you wish to support youth in their higher education, please contact us we will connect you with a worthy recipient.
